It always thrills me to see what others make while playing around with my patterns + projects when they appear on Instagram, Pinterest, Ravelry, Etsy, Flickr and elsewhere on the web. Take my Mix Match Note Taker*, for example. I have been making variations on these for years, and although the sizes and contents have changed a bit with each new incarnation, I always tend to gravitate toward using a patchwork of vintage textiles. What is so great about putting handmade projects like these out into the world, however, is that people like you are free to re-imagine them to suit your personal style resulting in finished projects that are uniquely you, which I think is so so cool.
I was especially excited to see what my friend Anne Weil from Flax & Twine would make when she got a hold of my book, Vintage Made Modern. Anne's work has a really pretty aesthetic that I adore, and you can see in her photo (below) that she has quite a clever way with textiles. Look how she made use of the scalloped edge of her handkerchief!
Flax & Twine is hosting a giveaway to win a copy of VINTAGE MADE MODERN for yourself and I hope you will share what you have made, as well!
