There has been a wonderful buzz of activity and celebration around here the past few weeks. Thanksgiving dinner saw our dining room packed with 18 loved ones around a really big, cleverly assembled L-shaped table. Sure, there was a trip to the pediatric ER later in the evening, but all is well that ends well and we are thankful for so much. And as if the healing properties of chocolate pie and pumpkin cheesecake weren't enough, the next day we adopted a wonderfully sweet dog. She spent the past year being bounced around, eventually being relocated to Ohio and rescued by the Humane Society where we met. She has settled in quite nicely - adult dogs are where it's at - and we are thrilled to have a new addition to our family. This time last year was very tough for us, and so it is especially heart-warming to decorate together, remember loved ones who have passed, celebrate fond memories and make everything all the more special.
Our Elf is back in the house each day in a new spot, leaving surprises in the Advent calender overnight, and we are looking forward to enjoying each moment of the days ahead. There is a flurry of gift-making by the girls and me, and you can feel the excitement in the air every day. Both girls are participating in kids' craft show this weekend and one is very excited to perform in a holiday production at the local theater. There will be two birthday parties for our two very unique daughters who share a birthday this month. And I have a few projects to share here when time allows, too... there has been so much knitting! Let's just say this is the very best kind of busy. One day at a time, my friends. One awesome day at a time. In the interim, you can find me on Instagram with bits + pieces now and then, as well.
Wishing you + yours a wonderful holiday season! xoxo
