Recently, I had long overdue plans to gather with a few friends. It was one of those final Friday nights when it was still warm enough for the kids to run around outside without coats long after dark. While they whooped it up, we sipped wine and caught up with one another. A win-win evening if there ever was one. We brought appetizers to share and enjoyed a truly lovely evening. Thanks, Monika!
The night before, my friends texted that they were searching Pinterest for a few recipes, alerting me to the fact that I still had no idea what I would make the following day. Even with an unexpectedly busy schedule the afternoon of, I was able to throw together a sheet of puff pastry, broccoli and some sharp Vermont cheddar resulting in a simple + delicious addition to the table (taking inspiration from these tarts and this classic). Puff pastry sheets are a terrific staple to keep on hand in the freezer for times like this. Granted, it is not exactly everyday food nutritionwise, but in moderation and when you are looking to prepare something that tastes delicious + has great presentation, puff pastry wins every time. xoxo
